  • Design / Administrative Assistant - New York +

    Nate Berkus Associates New York is looking for a Design Assistant that would provide direct administrative support to the Principal and Director of Operations. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, positive, dedicated and resourceful. Use your passion for organization and attention to detail to help the Nate Berkus team bring designs to life.

     

    What You Will Do
    – Support day-to-day operations in the New York office, including vendor communications, travel research, filing, time sheets and expense reports.
    – Assist with administrative aspects of client projects including business correspondence, site measurements, meeting notes, furniture and finish presentations, and tracking the production of goods.
    – Assist Principal in managing the workload of multiple projects from presentations to installation.
    – Provide administrative support on special projects as needed; including the 1stdibs storefront, social media and personal tasks as requested by the Principal.

     

    Your Qualifications
    – Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or equivalent experience in a design-related field.
    – 3+ years of professional experience in a fast-paced environment.
    – Experience with Studio Designer or the ability to quickly learn new programs.
    – Advanced proficiency in CAD, MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
    – Exhibit a high level of initiative and ability to anticipate needs of the Senior Staff.
    – Possess exceptional organization, efficiency and communication skills.
    – Great problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
    – Adaptable and flexible; able to manage competing priorities.

  • Designer - Chicago +

    Nate Berkus Associates Chicago is looking for a Designer that would provide direct support to the Partner and Senior staff, as well as managing Design Assistants.

    What You Will Do

    – Assist the Partner with selection of furniture, fabrics and other materials

    – Work closely with clients: present furniture, lead site visits, oversee construction and other tasks as required

    – Prepare floor plans and presentations

    – Understand the vendors, their products and policies

    – Manage the Design Assistants

    Your Qualifications

    – Five or more years’ experience as a Designer in the design field

    – Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field

    – Ability to work with a degree of accuracy of timing

    – Great problem-solving skills and attention to detail

    – Organization, efficiency and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is essential

    – Computer skills required: Microsoft Word and Excel, AutoCAD

  • Design Intern (Winter) +

    Nate Berkus Associates is looking for an intern for the semester beginning in January 2020 in our Chicago office. This is 2-3 days per week, non-paid internship.

    Responsibilities include maintenance of the sample library, assisting Designers and Design Assistants with pricing, quotes, and selection of materials which may require trips to the Merchandise Mart. Other duties may include Cad, drafting, and entry of specifications into our design tracking program, assisting with preparation of presentations as well as filing and other administrative duties.

  • Executive Intern (Winter) +

    Nate Berkus Associates is looking for an executive intern to assist the firm’s Design Director in Chicago two (2) days a week for the semester beginning in January 2020.

     

    Responsibilities will include tasks related to design, travel and event planning, public relations, schedule management and other administrative duties. This position will provide insight into the interior design industry and the daily responsibilities associated with the position.

    Students studying these fields: Interior Design, Public Relations, and Communications are encouraged to apply.

    Nate Berkus Studio is looking for an intern for the semester beginning in August 2019 in our Chicago office. This position is two (2) days a week and is a non-paid internship.

     

    Be a part of the development and design process of Nate Berkus branded product for the home. Assist team with preparation of presentations, filing, and other administrative duties.

     

    Students studying these fields: Visual Communications/Graphic Design, Product Design and Marketing are encouraged to apply.
