    Your Role

    Nate Berkus Associates Chicago is looking for a Designer that would provide direct support to the Design Directors and Senior staff, as well as managing the Design Assistants.

     

    What You Will Do
    Assist Design Directors with selection of furniture, fabrics and other materials

    – Prepare floor plans, renderings/sketches (as needed) and presentations
    – Create new floor plans
    – Check selections in preparation for meeting, PM to complete final sign off

    – Create elevations for meeting prep
    – Create custom shop drawings for vendors
    – Dimension plans for Design Directors
    – Final print drawings for meetings

    Update CAD files post meeting to reflect client final selections
    Must develop a client base and close working relationship with clients
    Understand vendors, their products and policies
    Managing the Design Assistants
    Misc. tasks as needed

     

    Your Qualifications
    -Three or more years experience as a Designer in the design field
    -Bachelors degree in Interior Design or related field
    -Ability to work with a degree of accuracy of timing
    -Organization, efficiency and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is essential
    -Great problem solving skills and attention to details

    -Computer Skills required: Microsoft word and Excel, AutoCAD

  • Project Manager +

    Your Role

    Nate Berkus Associates is looking for a Project Manager that would provide direct support to the Project Management Director in addition to the Design Directors.

     

    What You Will Do
    Prepare floor plans, renderings/sketches (as needed) and presentations

    -Create new floor plans

  • Design Assistant +

    Your Role

    Nate Berkus Associates Chicago is looking for a Design Assistant that would provide direct administrative support to the Design Directors and Senior staff, as well as general support to the studio.  Use your passion for organization and attention to detail to help the Nate Berkus team bring designs to life.

     

    What You Will Do
    -Support day-to-day operations of a 12-15 person studio, including specification writing, vendor communication, travel arrangements, filing, and expense reports.

    -Assist with administrative aspects of client projects including business correspondence, meeting notes, furniture and finish presentations, and tracking the production of goods.

    -Provide administrative support on special projects as needed

     

    Your Qualifications

    -Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Interior Design, Architecture or design related field.
    -2+ years of professional experience in a fast-paced environment
    -Experience with Design Manager or the ability to quickly learn new programs
    -Advanced proficiency in CAD, MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite

    -Exhibit a high level of initiative and ability to anticipate needs of the Senior Staff

    -Possess exceptional organizational and communication skills

    -Adaptable and flexible; able to manage competing priorities

    Responsibilities include maintenance of the sample library, assisting Designers and Design Assistants with pricing, quotes, and selection of materials which may require trips to the Merchandise Mart. Other duties may include Cad, drafting, and entry of specifications into our design tracking program, assisting with preparation of presentations as well as filing and other administrative duties.

    Responsibilities will include tasks related to design, travel and event planning, public relations, schedule management and other administrative duties. This position will provide insight into the interior design industry and the daily responsibilities associated with the position.

    Be a part of the development and design process of Nate Berkus branded product for the home. Assist team with preparation of presentations, filing, and other administrative duties.

     

    Students studying these fields: Visual Communications/Graphic Design, Product Design and Marketing are encouraged to apply.

  • Administrative Intern (Summer) +

    Nate Berkus Associates and Entertainment is looking for an energetic, bright and organized administrative intern for the semester beginning in May 2018 in our Chicago office. The position is two (2) days a week.

     

    We are looking for a motivated self-starter who is able to prioritize and multi-task, has strong follow-through, and excellent communication and computer skills. Responsibilities would include handling all incoming calls and guests, signing for packages, sorting the mail, ordering supplies as needed, as well as handling the day to day office tasks and special projects which will be assigned.  You will also be assisting with correspondence, responding to various requests we receive, filing, and light bookkeeping activities.
